Inverting the patriarchal narrative of Surrealism and bringing the older movement into a modern space. I’m rebelling against the objectification of women in art and fashion. I used primary research to help create my own version of an ‘ideal female body’ to battle against modern body standards. My garment is painted to replicate a common medium of surrealism, mistreating the paint on an unconventional canvas to reimagine a female body rather than mistreating women within painting.
