Inherited Celebration

This project explores the idea of celebration through exaggerated balloon forms covered in tissue paper, transforming materials associated with parties and joy into a wearable piece of millinery. The silhouette of my garment explores the stooped posture often associated with older women, reframing it as something bold and celebratory. The piece challenges how older women are often overlooked or dismissed, instead honouring ageing, resilience and the value of women across generations.
