In a divided world, filled with military conflicts my character is a Rebel who criticises the people with power in the military through this coat. The aiguillette inspired braided wool is a mockery of the military dress and in turn a criticism of imperialism. The coarse hessian fabric is a reference to the Carmagnole jacket that signalled a rejection of the silks and satins during the French Revolution; it was worn by people regardless of class, symbolising an embrace of a new classless society.
