The Burden of Morality
Roman Lucas
I used Cassandra from mythology to explore the morality of power, particularly how authority punishes those who challenge it or refuse passivity. Instead of presenting Cassandra as only vulnerable, I focussed on her defiance, awareness and the weight of knowing something unavoidable. The garment lives between protection and exposure, mixing restrictive structures with draped sections and open spaces. Layered weight show imposed control, while traces extending from the garment show repetition.
