I Think I'd Like to Move to the Seaside...

My project explores the two halves of the community that are emerging in Hastings due to gentrification intensifying the economic, social and political divide within the town. The romanticised attitude of New Town parallels the glamourised narrative of the creative revival of coastal towns in the media, offering a one sided and limiting depiction of place and masking the reality of long term deprivation that remains unsolved within these areas and continues to impact existing residents.
